Websites

ChooseVeg.com is an easy-to-use website with hundreds of recipes, including many simple ones.

Compassion Over Killing and The Humane Society of the United States have recipes on their organizations' websites.

Fatfree Vegan Recipes offers recipes for health-conscious people.

Peta2 is a youth-oriented website with easy veg recipes.

The Post Punk Kitchen offers user-submitted recipes with ratings and reviews. Try browsing recipes by main ingredient to find recipes that appeal to you.

RecipeZaar is not a vegetarian site, but it includes thousands of user-submitted veg recipes that can be filtered by a wide variety of categories.

VegCooking.com is a comprehsensive vegetarian cooking website with a keyword search feature and the ability to browse recipes by food type or cuisine type.

VegWeb.com consists of user-submitted and reviewed recipes. On the Recipes drop-down menu, select "Popular Recipes" to see the cream of the crop in each category.

Search engines like Google also make it easy to find certain meatless recipes. For instance, searching for "vegetarian chili" (in quotes) displays many different cooking websites and blogs that have a vegetarian chili recipe.

Cookbooks

Major bookstores like Barnes and Noble usually have a vegetarian/vegan section in their cooking aisles. We suggest going to the store and browsing through the books to find ones that are right for you. Our recommendations are listed below, with more challenging cookbooks indicated with a star ().
